Claudia & Fabio

Our Story

It started with an idea — long before Casa Brazil Café had a name.

The beginning

In 2019, during a three-month exchange experience in Toronto, Fabio began thinking about creating a business in Canada inspired by something deeply rooted in Brazilian culture:

Food is more than something we eat.
It's something that brings us together.

For us, some of the best moments happen around food — friends getting together, families sharing a table, conversations lasting longer than expected, and simple moments becoming memories.

When Fabio returned to Brazil, that idea returned with him.

From Brazil to Canada

We are Claudia and Fabio, two Brazilians from different corners of a very big country.

Claudia is from Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon, and Fabio is from Fortaleza, on Brazil's northeastern coast. We met in Manaus but spent much of our life together in Fortaleza before Canada became part of our story.

Those different roots are part of Casa Brazil Café too. While we celebrate Brazilian food and culture as a whole, our food carries a strong influence from Northeastern Brazil — a region known for its rich flavours, traditions and unmistakable relationship with food and hospitality.

In 2021, we moved to Canada so Claudia could pursue an international degree and we could experience something we had always been curious about: what it would really be like to live in another country.

Before coming to Canada, Claudia had worked as a flight attendant and Fabio as an IT manager. We had travelled extensively, but living in another country was an entirely different experience.

What was originally meant to be a chapter of our lives gradually became something more. We fell in love with Canada, its people and the life we were building here.

Eventually, we decided that Canada was no longer simply the country where we were living. It was home.

Casa Brazil Café is born

After becoming permanent residents, the old dream returned — this time with a place to grow.

In February 2026, Casa Brazil Café officially began.

We didn't start with a restaurant or a beautiful café. We started small — very small — with a simple food cart, limited resources and a big idea.

We began bringing our food to local markets and events, learning, improving and adding new Brazilian flavours along the way. And that's still only the beginning.

Our dream is to one day create a place where people genuinely enjoy spending time — somewhere friends and families can meet, slow down, share great food and simply enjoy being together.

That's why we chose the word: CASA
Because “casa” means home.
And home is where people come together.

Our story, in four words

Brazilian soul,
Canadian heart.

We were born in Brazil, and Brazil will always be part of who we are — especially through its food, flavours and culture. But Canada is the country we chose to call home, build our future in and invest our dreams in.

That's not just our slogan. It's our story.
